I'm screwed for this year, have to tear it all apart and do it manually, but am going to switch for 2019. That will have the proper expense categories and COGS, etc. No big surprise I guess, but I did expect better from them. ETSY has been recommending a program that cannot meet our needs. We fully customize our services specifically for. After talking to a rep at Quickbooks, she told me that Self Employed is designed for somebody like an Uber Driver, not a small business owner. When trying to do my tax return I found that Self Employed doesn't have the needed expense categories for Schedule C. Had the same issue with Quickbooks not importing for a couple of months. So last year I clicked on the Etsy recommendation for Quickbooks Self Employed. This happened several times, and I decided to go to Quickbooks since I use TurboTax and it's the same company. If I didn't log on periodically and try to fix the connection, I had to manually enter the data. It was very glitchy about importing from my bank account, but I don't know if that was on GoDaddy's end or the banks. I used GoDaddy for a few years and it was okay. Maybe not $10 per month helpful, however. With Quickbooks, I could see all the payments and how I made them.so that was really helpful. Same with my health insurance premium, which I paid for with different means throughout the year - a few times with credit card, sometimes by being linked to my bank and then once with a check. I am searching for what the 'best' accounting/bookkeeping software or service is that will integrate with Etsy, allow me to track my expenses, and export the required tax (and sales tax) information. On Quickbooks, I can do a search for each type of Etsy fee (transaction, listing, processing) and then it automatically totals them in each category. What I am afraid to give up is the ability to sort out payments. Would love to hear how GoDaddy's bookkeeping works because I think it is half the price. Also, it costs $10+ a month which is more than I need, considering I'm not really making a full time income here. Here is her link.I have been using Quickbooks for Etsy this past year and did not log on for many months (I am not a high volume seller) and, as a result, they did not automatically import about 3 months worth of charges for one of my linked accounts (the credit card I use for most everything) - so I was a little dissappointed in that. We about the new tool last month, and since then, Seller Ledger also turned on billing. The bookkeeping service specifically designed for marketplace sellers launched in beta for eBay sellers earlier this year. There is a lot of videos on You Tube and If you search Quick Books sync with Etsy there is a great super informative gal who knows a lot and walks you through things. Seller Ledger has added support for Etsy. I also set up a live class with a Quick Books Pro that I found in my area on Monday to go over questions that I might have. I will just add together the totals from GoDaddy and Quick Books to get my totals for the years end. It seems to be easier to start off fresh and get familiar with the new system. I also connected my PayPal account from June 1. I then signed up for Quick Books Simple Start and used the Etsy sync that was really quite easy to import my information from Etsy with the start date of June 1. I instead updated all of my taxes and closed out my books from GoDaddy Jan. I decided against the migration from GoDaddy to QuickBooks because of you all sharing what a disaster it was. After reading posts and shares from everyone I decided to go with QuickBooks Simple Start. GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping offers basic bookkeeping, strong tax support, and a full Etsy integration as well.
